Burnie 2011

MusoMagic spent two action-packed and exhilarating days working with fifty young Tasmanians from the Burnie area this week...and what a fantastic two days it was! The group hailed from several different schools but united wholeheartedly to create their song, Take It From Me". This is one seriously catchy tune, with awesome dance moves to match it!

Sincere thanks from MusoMagic to all the organisations and individuals who contributed to making the  magic in Burnie: Apex Burnie and Mark Fishwick, Lions Club Burnie, MDC Mechanical Service, Elphingstone and the Burnie Youth Choir; Rozi Wilson, who contributed her expertise and wonderful energy to help the group with singing and harmonies; those teachers and other adults who generously contributed their time - Miss Rands, Karen Darragh and Marcia Hankinson, plus Neil "Beaver" Hurley and Jessie Walters; very special thanks to Grace Spicer for her unyielding assistance and care - and for the most AWESOME costumes ever; and finally, we can't thank Christine Austin-Lund enough for her non-stop efforts to make everything happen - without her, the event would not have been such a success.

Thanks also to Sea FM and ABC Radio for providing your support and airtime for the group named 'High on Music'!

We also greatly appreciate the generosity of the Baptist Church on Mount Street for the use of their hall and facilities, and thanks to Makers Workshop for allowing us to shoot video scenes in their fantastic venue.

And many thanks also go to the six Peer Mentors selected to co-facilitate - you all rose to the challenge and your growth as leaders and individuals was evident and inspiring! We're proud to be represented by such outstanding young people as yourselves and your peers in Burnie.
